Achiever of the Year
L.M.
Willis
South Division

(Top - L. M. Willis, Jr.
and his mother, Mrs. Mardean Willis / Bottom - L.M.. Willis, Jr. receives his Achiever of
the Year award from Mr. Dick Dwinell, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Mr. Daniel
Nisley, President and Chief Executive Officer)
According to C.C. Davis, Temple Goodwill Store Manager, L.M. Willis is an employee who
should be cloned. Dependable, reliable, efficient, well-mannered - superlatives
earned by this quiet, hard-working individual.
When you meet L.M., you first notice his smile. He appears precariously perched
on his crutches, which you understand once you learn that he deals with the effects of
congenital polio on a daily basis. Undaunted by physical limitations, L.M. has
independently maintained any work area assigned. With eighteen years experience,
L.M. provides quality customer service. He can help customers with just about
anything they need. Not much keeps L.M. from work at Goodwill, except an occasional
cold front and vacations.
L.M. is described by his co-workers has "an inspiration". "He
opened my eyes and way of thinking about everyday life..." are the types of comments
L.M. consistently earns.
And as always, there's a great woman involved. L.M.'s supervisor assures me that
Mrs. Willis has the same positive attitude and perseverance as her son. She has been
a significant factor in L.M.'s success.
L.M. has manned the Temple Goodwill Store at its various locations since 1984.
And now he is ready to retire. L.M. worked through the end of December, and retired.
Eighteen years of service, never a day without a smile and a hug. L.M. will be
missed by every Goodwill employee and customer who's ever met him.
Thanks L.M. - Congratulations and Happy Retirement!
